Paul has now partly retired and has taken the position of Business Director and lead advisor after his son in law Adam has taken over the position of Managing Director.

Paul started out his working life as an electrician before his interest in the environment led him to pursue higher education in the form of an honours Degree and Masters degree in Biology. This interest and newfound qualifications resulted in Paul securing a job as an environmental scientist with Sir Alexander Gibb, a nation-wide firm.

Paul’s engineering background and knowledge of the environment proved to be a successful combination allowing Paul to easily excel in each of the diverse areas found in his new job.

Paul and his then boss Robert Taylor become friends as well as work colleagues and when the company made the decision to close its local office in favour of opening a larger one, further away from home and within a city, both Paul and Robert felt the move was not suitable for them and so ESP Environmental was born.

With Paul’s field skills and expertise combined with Robert’s flair for numbers and behind the scenes organising and paperwork the perfect business partnership began tentatively and soon flourished. Both Paul and Robert strived to build up a company with high regard for its clients coupled with a friendly, approachable service and an attention to detail that set a grounding for the great reputation ESP currently enjoy and work hard to uphold.

Paul still retains his enthusiasm for the area of work after 20years, it is testament to this work ethic and enthusiasm that the team in ESP all put in extra effort to ensure ESP continues to grow and maintain its high standards.

Paul is understandably ESP’s most qualified technician and holds:
An honours and Masters degree, is a Chartered biologists and member of Royal Society of Biology,  MCerts level 2 stack emissions testing under UKAS accreditation, BOHS Asbestos P402 & P405.
